Emily and Joe originally were planning a big wedding at Aberdeen. Earlier this year when Covid numbers started to rise again, they decided to scale it down and opted to party in their backyard instead. They were still able to have their ceremony at Aberdeen and their backyard reception was absolutely gorgeous! It was so intimate, no rush of things, and they were able to just celebrate all night long with their favorite people.
I have several favorite venues that I absolutely love photographing at – but backyard weddings are such a different atmosphere. It removes all of the busyness and formality of a traditional wedding and it brings the focus completely on what’s important.
Emily and Joe are such good people. These two are the type of people who tried waiting in line for dinner on their own wedding day. And they would have happily done it but thankfully their guests pushed them to cut in front of the line.
Emily sincerely complimented every single person she saw. And I heard her try to serve her friends and family on multiple occasions.
I probably say it to Kris after every wedding, but I truly do not understand how we get the honor of meeting such wonderful people and documenting their biggest days.
Enjoy so many of my favorites! Congratulations again, you two!
With love,
Kayla
